In Bromley also and commute daily through Biggin Hill -- has anyone had a 16.2 upgrade at a local BMW dealer?

Thanks,

I purchased my car from Whitehouse Bromely group, who tell me that they have the 'latest' I-Drive software - so am booked in for a download - will have to wait and see if they really have 16.2 though as when I mentioned the software code it only confuses them !!!

Cheers.

Whitehouse is my local dealer -- didn't purchase car there but go there for servicing. I'll be very interested to see how you get on? Are you paying for your software upgrade? What issues are you hoping will be resolved?

Tom

can any one throw any light on why BMW have stopped letting us play our cd changer randomly.

i had several cd changers in all my BMWs over the years and they have all played cd's at random.... but now with the new one we can only play tracks at random on a cd as opposed to random cd's....

Cheers for any info!!

My car was already built when I bought it - i.e. it was pre wk9 car specc'd by BMW GB Limited and ready for delivery & registration in 2 wks - which is why i was able to do a deal on the price. Hence, I currently do not have Birds Eye View mode in the Nav screen.

As I was fully aware of the week 9 changes (new software and DSC+) when I bought the car, I agreed with my dealer that I could have the new software downloaded at a later date, as soon as they confirmed they had 16.2 - so now am just cashing in that token. I also agreed to have my nav disk (2005-1) swapped for the new nav disk 2005-2 as soon as that comes out at no cost.

In order for them to do a PUMA and charge the software upgrade to BMW under warranty, however, I had to mention a couple of the common I-Drive problems - e.g. freezing screen / radio mute issue etc (which actually do occur) for the download to be gratis

Also am having Aux input installed (?155) and Voice Input at a later date (when they get the parts) (?190).

Ps- I actually live in central London (Waterloo) but have bought from Whitehouse for the last 6/7 years.

Cheers.

Good question <_<

Not sure if the the owner's manual says that the auto gearbox requires a run-in period - i know that the brakes, tyres and of course engine and manual gearbox do have a set mileage allocated to them for running in from new.

Have you got your owner's manual to hand? I haven't got mine at present.
