Anyone else find Condition Based Servicing irritating?

Checked the i-drive today to find the following service predictions

Front pads 10,000 mls
Rear Pads 11,000
Microfilter 12,000
Oil 13,000

With the service package the dealer is unlikely to touch any of them until 'due'.

I might get away with 2 visits for all items 4 within the 3,000 miles spread instead of 3 visits if i'm lucky.

Might have to take the SA some chocolates on the first visit

In this case it'll be all in one too.
When the front pads get done, change the rear pads too. Microfilter also, because nobody cares about, and oil... Better too early than too late.

It's down to the discretion of, and one's relationship with, the SA.

Someone put me out of my misery please.

I can't think of any E60 engine that uses a belt drive for the Camshaft. In fact I can't remember any BMW engine in recent times that uses a cam belt.

I need enlightenment, just so I don't buy a car with that engine!!

Just exhibiting my limited knbowledge in this area. So the timing chain may never need replacing? That's a good thing I believe.

I know some and I don't know some.

I enjoy driving my e60 - I rarely open the bonnet - that's why I have the 5-year service and maintenance package!
