I completed the annual safety inspection required here in Virginia. I own a 2006 525i and I attempted to reset the "Inspection" setting in the CBS using the odometer reset button as I've done several times before. However, once I select the "Inspection" symbol and then hold the odometer reset button down for several second, the Inspection due date does not reset. Since I own the Bavarian Technic diagnostic tool I attempted to reset "Inspection" using the tool. When I navigated to the CBS reset page, "Inspection" does does not have a reset option. The 4 other services listed did. Has anyone seen this before? Does anyone know what causes this? Thanks in advance.

 

You mean the inspection settings within the iDrive Service Requirements menu?

If yes, on either State Inspection and/or Emission Inspection menu press the iDrive wheel and within the detail press the wheel again on "Set Service Date" selection and you can adjust them.
