Forgive me if this is in the manual somewhere but I must have overlooked it. I have a 2007 550i and after cleaning my interior yesterday I noticed that the right halo lights were lit and also the rear right tail light. Nothing was lit on the the left side. My brother had bimmer and he told me that this was to warn traffic and save power if you are stalled beside the road somewhere without draining your battery. When I turned my car on and back off the lights shut off as normal.
My question is how did i turn that feature on? I was wiping the dash down but didn't think i did anything special.
Thanks in advance for your input

That "parking light" feature is described in your owner's manual. If you don't have the one provided by BMW you may download a copy in the information section of this forum. When you have time you might "discover" other features your car has. The on-line version is so much easier to search than paging through the hard-copy.
RTFM is a phrase typically used in IT meaning "Read The Frigging Manual". Or in internet terms "JFGI" meaning "Just Frigging Google It".
My apologies for contributing with my own post asking this very same question about a week ago.

That's one of the most eloquent versions of RTFM that I've seen in a long time. Nice written.
