I have been watching the various E60 forums lately, and have seen a lot of questions about wheel fitment. Please carefully check out the wheel sizes listed for car, you rim size/width, etc. I use RealOEM.com for my research.

For example, here are some common sizes for the 2006 530's:

530i:
18x8, 5x120 bolt pattern, 20mm offset (front and rear)
17x8, 5x120 bolt pattern, 20mm offset (front and rear)
17x7.5, 5x120 bolt pattern, 20mm offset (front and rear)
16x7, 5x120 bolt pattern, 20mm offset (front and rear)
18x9, 5x120 bolt pattern, 32mm offset (rear only, "staggered" setup)

530xi:
18x8, 5x120 bolt pattern, 43mm offset (front and rear)
18x9, 5x120 bolt pattern, 55mm offset (rear only, "staggered" setup)

Now - you'd think after that diatribe that I'd be really careful about what wheels I bought for my E60 (a 530xi). Well - I thought I *was* being careful. A few days ago, I ordered the "BMW Z8 Style (#71)" wheels and Blizzaks from Lakeshore Wheel and Tire (I needed a set of winter rims and tires). At the time, the web site showed, and the salesperson confirmed, that they were 18x8 41mm offset wheels (they were listed on the E36/E46 page, and the wheels now do not show an offset). The BMW OEM wheels are 43mm offset for 18x8 on a 2006 530xi, so I figured 2mm would not make a big difference (handling, safety, rubbing, whatever). However - the wheels I got were 35mm offset and a call to Lakeshore about not shipping what I ordered results in the expected "6mm of difference is no big deal, the wheels will fit". While I am certainly concerned that the wheels may not fit properly (it's actually 8mm off from the factory spec), I'm more concerned that they did not ship me what I ordered and won't even make an effort to "make it right".

Please don't make my mistake. Choose your wheels (and wheel sources) carefully.

Im sure if you werent given what you ordered then you have a right to return them for a refund. Your from lawyer heaven land - threaten to sue them if they dont comply.

Actually, you can go up to 10mm on the front and 20mm on the rear from the xi spec wheels and still be within the fenderwell; 8mm is nothing, and frankly, will look better. I understand your frustration with the siutaion in principle, but I'd *rather* have a 35mm offset 18x8 wheel on a 530xi...

Incidentally, I can't find a Style 71 18x8 wheel with a 35mm offset. As far as I can tell Style 71 comes in:

8x18 ET 47
8x18 ET 20

I do see a 7.5x17 and 8.5x17 Style 71 with a 41mm offset...
