Why does Carbin Black actualy look blue. its so anoying!

Yeah carbon black is definitely not black. Don't worry it'll grow on you it did for me.

The perceptive color depends on the reflective light. Geeze, did I say that!?

If the light is directly on it, it is blue, if not it looks black.

That makes it quite a neighborhood conversation subject.

Amongst the best of my ordering options!

BTW, someone on the forum described it very well some months ago. Something about blue flakes in the paint.

Same thing with Sapphire black, it looks dark gray in direct sunlight

If you ordered it (new) from a salesperson and they never mentioned that it would be blue in daylight, then you've got a reason to be angry with them. As you can see above in the thread though, a lot of people like it. I personally don't like the blueness of it so much and was most surprised first time I encountered a carbon black e60. I'd been looking the car over for 10 minutes and was convinced it was regular metallic black. It was only because the sun suddenly broke through the clouds that the blueness became apparent. I think carbon black would be about 6th in my top 10 of colours, with metallic black, non-metallic black, silver, grey and white all above it (in that order).
