My Ride: 2008 535xi

Hey guys!! I need some input. I have a 2008 535xi and got my windows tinted yesterday. Brought it home and can not lock or unlock my doors with the keyfob. Seems like the battery must have drained while he was working on it also because my presets are gone. I can lock and unlock my car with the key but neither if the key fobs work at all. Any suggestions?

Check your diversIty antenna. It is underneath the headliner on the back right, attached to the back glass. Tinters may have gotten water on it, disconnected it or dislodged it from the back glass. You probably also have no am reception.

Will the car start and if it does are you getting the maintenance symbol? If your battery becomes too weak, the remote will not work, but you would also notice this problem during starting. If you have a battery charger, give it a good charge over night or run by you local parts store for a battery check. You can imagine that most likely all four doors remained opened and the overhead lights were probably on during this process that would have put a strain on your battery. Just something else to look at.

Nothing seems out of the ordinary when i start it but i do know i will probably need a new battery soon anyways since it is the original battery im pretty sure. I will definitely try that. Thank you!

Turboawd sorry i havent replied sooner, i was waiting for the tint to fully cure so i didnt want to roll down my windows. The other day after 2 weeks everything started working again and back to normal! I am wondering if maybe something got wet while he was tinting and took a while to dry out when we got a few days of warmer weather. Fingers crossed it stays this way!!
