Tonight I went to move my car from the roadside to the garage -- got in, put the key in and pressed the start button. It just went nuts with error blinking 'transmission error'. Took the key out and tried again, and it was either 'transmission error' or 'fuel pump' error... Went thru 5 minutes of this until it finally started up and I got to park the car.

Any one have experience with this kind of weird behavior? Is something really wrong with my car or it this type of thing normal....? (It wasn't that cold, just about 18 degrees Celsius....)

Could be your battery, I've read quite a number of posts where members iDrive lit up like a x-mas tree/multiple warnings only to find it was due to a low battery....

They found a few wires chewed up by some rodents.

Rodents are a nightmare, I try to keep them out of the garage by installing 3 Ultrasonic devices and so far no rodent droppings in the garage.
