JDN, My dealer only sold one E60 SMG and mine is it. Mine is the only one in for service as well. They PUMA'd it last time and replaced the stuff listed above. They PUMA'd this again this morning at 8:30. I will wait to see.

I'm wondering it the "PUMA guys" have added this website to the troubleshooting checklist yet...

pennetta, problem with my dealer was no one in the shop understood the technology. Sounds like your situation is similar to that extent. You have serious problems that need some people with a longer wheelbase.

They have rollers for the wheels, or should have. They are installed in about five to ten minutes and then you can just pull the car up on the flatbed.

To answer your question, I haven't heard of this problem coming up with any frequency on non SMG cars. My steptronic has been fine for its young life.

SMG is fun, but it's pain in the tail when it gets stucks. That make me reconsider SMG when I order my next E60.

Maybe I'm just lucky but my SMG has worked flawlessly. I'll order SMG on each new BMW -- as long as they don't decide to stop offering it...

Hope everything gets worked out for you pennetta...

Rudy , I just noticed our build dates are eight days apart. If I get my car back tomorrow it won't be until a week before I know if its fixed since its been happening in approximatley weekly intervals.
