Hey guys,
I have a 2004 545i sport steptronic with 98500 km.
Recently I've been noticing that my steering wheel shakes when I accelerate. Now I've noticed it more often.
It starts shaking around 85 km/h and continues to shake harder the faster I go. The car shakes hard and travels up the steering wheel. But when I release the pedal when going fast the shaking/vibration stops. So basically I can drive about 80 km/h only and If I decide to go faster everything shakes.
My warranty is out and I drive highways daily so any help would be appreciated.
Thank you guys.

did you just get an aftermarket rims?
if so make sure hub size is the same as oem.. if not you need a hubcentric rings.
also make sure they are balanced .... when was the last time you got alignment?
also make sure nothing got stuck on tires

I've had these wheels for two seasons now and they were fine last year and most of this season.
Theres nothing stuck on the tires.
They are balanced, but I have not gotten an allignment before. I dont think its a wheel allignment because my steering is sharp and center. I could go get one if it will solve the shaking though..

well first you never know about your wheel alignment is off or not until you get them checked... i always get mine done every 4 -5 month... it feels fine but it is still off...
make sure you balance your wheel often, if you havent balanced your wheels for a while, also get them done. maybe weight of the wheel mightve fall out or something...
did you hit a pot hole? maybe it is bent.....
otherwise something is wrong with your control arm.. make sure your control arm bushings are fine and not worn out completly..

The wheels are 20 inch mayas.

mayas do need hubcentric rings as far as i know..
if you had metal hubcentric rings, maybe they worn out..
