Car stalling strangely

My Ride: 2005 530d
My 530d has recently starting stalling approx 30 seconds from my home.
When i leave my driveway, i drive approx 30 seconds before coming to a junction. As i change down gears ' manual car ' usually from 3rd to 2nd
the car will stall. It will only do this occasionally but then when i drive further to other junctions it will never stall again.
Seems to only do it when i 1st start the car and drive it, must be something to do with the car not having a chance to warm up a little as it wont do it again even 1 minute later when i come to the next junction.
Any ideas?
