Question

I know I have to bring this one in for the dealer to check but if you guys could help me diagnose the problem that would be great. The car shakes really bad sporadically at idle and sometimes stalls. The service engine soon light is on and it also says Increased Emissions. The dealer already cleaned out my Fuel Injectors and I was told that some cylinders are Misfiring possibly. Anyone have any ideas on the cause?

Thanks

Mike

You can try replacing the pressure regulator valves (pcv valves). I know that several people have had that same problem you're having and they were fixed by replacing both of them. There about 35$ each from the dealer. You need two of them. How many miles on the car? Probably not a bad idea to change plugs either.

How hard are they to replace? Do I need my mechanic to do it? (I'm not that great with engines). I think they changed the spark plugs on my last service. The car has 101000 miles on it.

Thanks again for your help!

Very very easy. Remove the engine cover and both cylinder head covers. There are two on both sides right in front. Do some searching on "pressure regulator valves". There is a great DIY. Should take no more than 30 minutes. All you need is a torx bit to remove the engine cover and 1 flat head screwdriver and some rags. If they cannot diagnose something that will illuminate the mill and are just throwing parts at it, i'd take it somewhere else.
