I have a manual transmission 06 and when I come to a stop my car shakes from left to right. I think it is th engine that is shifting from left to right. Its not extreme but definitely noticeable.

I first noticed it when I was sitting in my car waiting for it to warm up, at which point I popped the hood and noticed the engine shaking.

Is all of this normal? We are in a luxury car and I would expect a luxury drive, but this doesn't seem right.

I am going to get a new cylinder head next week (for the engine ticking sound), will this cure the problem? Or does it not have anything to do with it?

sounds like and engine mount that's loose or worn out... usually noticeable upon idle.

either that or gremlins in the engine...

Definitely not normal, even for a manual tran. You should get it checked out.

The car needs a proper BMW service.
