I had what sounds like this exact problem with my 525d. It seemed to go away by itself (or atleast, it hasn't happened in atleast 5 months now)... the only thing I can think of is that I added a bottle of Redex to the tank a week or two before it disappeared.

I've had the same problem with my 2005 525i. When im on the freeway and begin to accelerater, i get no power at all for a good 5 seconds. It also happens when im in moderate speed on the streets and brake decreasing speeds immediately then flooring the accelerator to get speeds, gaining to power whatsoever til i release the accelerator and step on it again.
Anyone find any solutions yet? i'm gonna take my car down to the dealership to see if i can get any leads.

I have a similar intermittent problem.
My car is an LCI 525d, and a manual
Occasionally when going to accelerate there is no extra power, or hardly any on flooring it. I've noticed that the fuel consumption indicator only goes down to 30 mpg, rather than down to single figures as you would expect.
I have taken it back to the stealer, no fault codes showing so as far as they are concerned there's nothing wrong, and of course the problem never .
I'll be interested to know how you get on, and I'll post again if I have any further news.

Good luck with the work. I hope it's under warranty. I've never trusted turbos and I'll never get one.
