i only use one key for the car and the settings dont get saved. I turned the sat nav women off, and the nest day she was on again. It is not getting saved.

I have that same issue too...satnav woman always comes back on.

i have not done this yet but i thought you could simply program (via iDrive) one of the steering wheel "star" buttons to mute satnav on-the-fly?

you can mute it, but that mutes everything including the music.

The mute should only mute the NAV lady. If you hold the button down (2 seconds) that repeats the last nav command you should be able to just mute the NAV. I use this option when detouring from the route - I get tired of hearing her tell me to make a U-turn.

Oh yea and about the topic question - I have not tried to see if the NAV comes back or not but I have been turning off (mute) the radio/cd lately and it comes back on every time I get back in the car. It seems to remember the source I was using (radio/cd) but not the fact that it was muted.

The next time the nav lady talks, lower your volume and it will mute her out and not the music.

nav button on wheel
- 1 tap either shuts her up (if she was talking)
or repeats her last message

the Mute button does not affect satNav in ANY way (at least not on my car)

the volume (either wheel or panel) WHILE she talks will raise/lower her volume

and finally
the idrive menu setting to shut her up is only active until you start the car again
it shouldn't be
but it is

She stays shut up for me. V12.1

But the radio un-mutes itself next time I get in the car.

Display settings in iDrive stay active in my ver 11 software. I rarely choose to clam the lady, but can if I want to.

My nav lady stayed in shut-up mode, with version 11.x and with version 12.2.
