car jerks forward when stopping

It sounds like it could either be a sticking brake caliper or faulty transmission valve body.
Pop the wheels off and look at the calipers for any leaks.
If the brake calipers look good then you'll have to look at the transmission. How many miles are on the vehicle? Do you know if the tranny has ever been serviced?

it sounds like the trans is slipping into 1st gear. Mine did this when the trans started to go out, probably will need a rebuild soon, but if the mechatronic is good it wont cost an arm and a leg
Funny, I have this issue too. Sometimes as I stop, it's as if the auto wants to drive on? I was putting it down to my driving style / braking habits as I get used to the car, although my last car (V6 Omega) was also an auto and didn't do this.

i try to stop before so it doesnt jerk as much but still jerks forward. has anybody replaced the transmission valve body and worked for them .
