Wasn't a lot of oil but I am concerned... Has anyone had this problem and is there a good place for me to look tonight when I pull her up onto the ramps?

Thanks - tgf

Welcome to the forums.
Are you 100% sure it's oil?

edit: Can you say was the leak under the engine or gearbox maybe?
And what car?

Hi, I had this problem with my previous 535d - what's your car? If you have a diesel, it can be from the turbo.

Welcome to the Forum tgfarns,

Oil under the engine? Not likely!

But, please tell us what the iDrive says about the oil level!

I suppose he means idle not idling.

But the fact is, that in Russsia the oil workers can have their cars in Siberia idling all the time in the winter.
The temperature can be under minus 40 C for some months.
A lot of ie Toyota Landcruiser and Sisu trucks (with Rolls-Royce engines) turbos have been sent from Finland,
express, to the tundras.

And this is no shit.

Ah yes, I guess a few details would be helpful - sorry I'm not used to posting...

It's a 2004 545, auto, and I didn't drive during the holidays and this week I was away on business. I just saw the stain this morning when I pulled out of the garage and assume it's oil. I-drive didn't mention I was low and I have not had any issues until now.

Also, it has been really cold for the last week, or so and was wondering if some seals may have contracted from not getting a regular warm-up.

Thanks - tgf

Just may just be some AC condensation water.

My car stands long times occasionally, during winter and summer time. Never had any leaks, so I wouldn't believe the cold weather could cause that.

Check the engine bay carefully to find any wet spots. Good luck, I hope you get it resolved .
