There may be more damage then meets the eye. Since the wheel was struck I'm 100% sure that there is aligment damage if not suspension damage. The same thing happened to my girlfriends parents car. Since the damage is in the rear you wont feel the misaligment but you have to get everything repaired properly. Also try running over a small pothole, check if it makes a louder knock than before. Sorry so hear that happen. Well I guess that kid learned his lesson in driving carelessly, since his insurance will skyrocket for the next 5 years.
