I purchased my car about a year ago. Little did I know the frame had damage and it began to make a horrible clunking sound when I turned left. So I thought I would post some pics of the repair process.

I dont know how many people know this, but from the firewall forward the frame is aluminum, and from the firewall back is steel. It is attached together by rivets and glue. The glue is over $100 a tube and they used 2 tubes. Enjoy.

Anybody here remember when cars were made exclusively with steel??? Amazing how complicated our cars are these days! I hope your car is finished quickly!

The car's warranty expired while in the shop. I took it to BMW here in Gainesville and they said they did not do body work to that extent. It was about $4000 to repair. I bought the car in TX from a dealership and had no idea that the rails were damaged. The rails were welded poorly and the welds began to fail causing a horrific noise when I turned left.

Well I live over 1000 miles away. I checked into the law and it seems that they did not break the law. I dont know what to do unless someone here lives in Richardson, TX.
