I didn't like my titanium silver at first, but I got the car used, and seller gave me a good price, so I got it anyway. The more I look at it, the more I like it. I think E60 looks better in light colors, but i would never buy it in white, since to me, it also screams "fridge" (I'm originally from Russia where 99% of BMW and MB are black, white is a joke really).
White bimmers are not joke. IMO a white bimmer is the sportiest of them all. This colour belongs to bmw in motorsport along with the 3 stripes (in a few competitions). F1 use white cars with blue strips (describing also the colours of the bmw emblem). WTCC BMWs are white. In enduro races like 24h Le Mans the m3 gtr is white with the m strips (my avatar).
So in the eyes of a real bmw fanatic white is by far a joke. White bmws are very rare so it gives them more exclusivity. Like another member said: it's so common on roads today to miss or oversee a gray or black bmw while a white one instantly shows up in traffic.
And why do you people care too much what others say? My friends would never permit themselves to call my car names whatever is my choice. They can express an opinion and i respect it whatever it is but not saying rude stuff. So why do u care what other people say? If i ever catch a bloke making fun on my car on whatever subject i have 2 options: simply ignore him or smoke him. Second option is really appealing.
I for one chose black because of my own reasons showed on this forum on white color discussions. If it wouldn't be for black i would for sure have gone for white. If my next bmw will be an M also FOR SURE IT WILL BE WHITE!

My Ride: Alpine White/Biege 545i, CWP, Nav, Active Steering, Auto Step ordered 2/1/05
I hadn't seen a white E60 on the No VA roads when I bought my car. I have been seeing quite a few alpine whites lately, though.

Man, have nothing against white, I'm just saying how opinions are different everywhere. Calm down. :-)

I prefer to stay with a lower profile.
As said, the color is the most useless aspect in a car. BUT for almost everyone it is surelly one characteristic we all care about and is difficult to choose, right? I wonder why...
If i had a Ferrari it would surelly not be red. It would be black or grey.
Btw: my first car was a white fiat punto.
