Greetings:

I can that see you have a car on order, I've had mine for 3 years. Look at all the posts on this forum concerning crash test ratings, reliability, poor dealer service and multiple electrical and mechanical berakdowns...that's my beef. The E60 is ridden with problems, no other car forum has so many complaints. Good Luck and enjoy your multiple, long term visits to the dealer for repairs.

Got a call from the SA Mgr. this afternoon and he asked permission to keep it another night & put some miles on my car to make sure everything OK, he said no mechanical problem as the loud/big bang/jerk that I experienced turned out to be probably a rough down shift when it shifted into safe mode. They reset all the faults and upgraded the software but not sure to what level.

That sucks man! Best of luck! Let's hope the car is not repairable and they have to give you a new 535xi instead, under the lemon law.

Sorry to hear about your problem. I am glad your family and you are OK. In the meantime enjoy the 535I

Ignore the troll. I've had nothing but good experiences with my local service department and my car in general. What dealership has full service available on a Saturday?? Sounds like they treated you right.

My dealer offers full service on Saturday's though the odds of you pulling in unannounced and getting a full diagnosis are slim-to-none. I have to say it sounds like the 535 loaner ready to go was bending over backwards to accomodate.

No mechanical damage, they replaced the TCM even after they able to clear out all the faults.

Greetings:

You episode was shocking.....when anything like that happens the first thing I worry about is safety. I do, however, invite you to read the post under " Reliability " . Some persons would give you an understanding comment. To me this episode is unacceptable in a $50K-$60K automobile. We are back at the issue of the reliabilty of these E60s.

PS. The SA couldn't wire your car to thier computer on a Sat. for you...typical BMW poor quality service.
This guy is a troll without creditability. And I am being kind.
