I just went to go get my oil changed at a place across the street from work. As soon as I started it there was smoke EVERYWHERE. We had to roll it into the service bay. I drove like less than a mile. WTF could it be? I think my engine may be shot. The engine sounded horrible.

Ouch! I assume it was running fine and not blowing smoke before the oil change? What the hell could they have done to it during a routine oil change?

White smoke = a water problem
Blue smoke = oil
Black = fuel

You need to be sure which it is!!! Your garage will advise!

My 325xi was doing this a few days ago. It may be a seal issue or a gasket. Have them check under the car to make sure the tranny is sealed up fine. Did the smoke smell a little like a diesel engine mixed with brakes? That's how I described the smell of the (white) smoke that came from the vents at the top of my hood.
