Use the key, not the remote! It should work!

Check the manual. It make talk about this issue in there. BMW would have to have a way to get in and out of the car with the battery disconnected...for safety reasons.

Cant be true. What if your battery went dead overnight during a cold winter night. It would be impossible to ever get in the car again. You wouldn't be able to get at the trunk release to get to the battery. You would be out a car. Impossible.

How can we open the trunk if the battery is dead. Doesn't it open electronically? How would we start our cars??

If you insert the key into the keyhole and turn it, it will release the lock mechanically -- plain and simple. It won't do things like unlock all the doors, etc. but it will allow you to gain access to the interior or the car or trunk!

Thats what I'm saying too. If the key holes didn't work with a dead battery you would be stranded. No way can this be possible.
