Started my car this morning and the radio comes on for 2 sec and suddenly no more sound. The bluetooth syncs up, but no sound. The PDC visual is alive, but no sound. After numerous restarts and letting the car sit for a few hrs, still no sound. Any ideas??

I had this happen once, butr after a couple minutes of waiting and restarting everything was fine.
There were problems with the audio that were solved by new software. I think you should bring it to the dealer and let them update the software, the problem will hopefully be solved.
One thing you could do before is, you could check the fuse. But even if it is the fuse, it doesn't blow without reason, so a dealer visit seems to be the best in your situation.

He didn't said anything about an idrive crash, but your symptoms look very identical.
In both of your cases a dealer visit is appropriate!

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I will finally bring it to the dealer this week. Still have the missing radio pre-set stations that I mentioned in the past. I've been living with it, but this "no sound" is unbearable if you no what I mean.

My Ride: 2013 M5 - Sakhir Orange / Black Leather.
I had the same problem about 8 months ago. PDC volume worked and oddly the CD, AM and weather radio worked. Only FM didn't work - no volume. Dealer/BMW ran a PUMA case and they wanted to replace the antenna wire, which entailed ripping the headliner, C pillar trim, etc. out. They ordered the parts and before they came in the radio started working again. It went on the fritz a week or so later for a day or so and then started working again. It's worked ever since. I never let them replace the antenna wire. It's clearly some screwy software issue.

My Ride: 2007 525i Monaco Blue w/ baige interior, auto, and premium package. My first BMW. Moving up from a 2004 Acura TSX.
I had a similar issue. It happend twice within the first three weeks of owning the car. I would start the car and there was no audio (no radio, no cell phone, no warning tones for seatbelt, door ajar, etc...). On both times it fixed itself after parking the car for a couple of hours. I have now had the car for 6 months and has never happeed again.... I guess this was just a liggle glitch during the "software break in" period...
