Thanks Chuck, et al for all the tips!!

I called the dealer back again and they said they will order a key from Germany for me, program the key and mail it to me. I will keep you all updated with how it goes! I don't want to try reprogramming the key myself in case I do something wrong since the dealer is willing to help now. For those of you who posted that they think the battery is dead, I doubt this is the issue since the remote on the key will lock/unlock the doors and release the trunk without.

Despite the little nuiscence with the key, the 545i is amazing!! It is my dream car and I thoroughly love driving it everyday. I still feel like a child with the best Christmas gift ever! All of us who are lucky enough to own this vehicle should be thankful.
