Searched I-Drive, but can,t find any set-up that shows warning of door ajar or not fully shut when starting up. My E39 shows picture of car in dash with an indication of which door is ajar. Am I missing something, or does the E60 no longer show this in some way or manner? If not should be added to softwear. Miss feature

Leave the door open, hold it with your left hand and drive through the parking lot. You'll see it. I was cleaning my car today and turned it around with trunk and drivers door open. You'll hear the chime and get the warning message. On the control display in the dash board, and the HUD, probably on the idrive screens bottom line too.

This Board Is The Greatest
Thank you ICEMAN Drove the car around the parking lot and held the door open as you suggested and got the Door Open showing on bottom of screen and the picture of car in warning area. Trick is you have to be in motion, and not standing still.
Thanks again.

Oh, my bad...

BUCKLE UP before you start driving, and don't drive any faster than 5 Km/h/3mph...

Maybe they need to add some language to the accept screen:

"Driving with doors ajar is a bad idea..."

You know guys, it's not easy driving around a parking lot , hanging off the door and dragging your feet along the ground to check out the door ajar warning. Really messed up a good pair of Mephistos, but at least I understand another great feature on these terrific cars. In all seriusness Iceman, your info. is greatly appreciated on all subjects.
Thanks again,
Netjazz

Netjazz... I hope you weren't typing on a wireless laptop on this forum while you were doing that!
