Trying to hardwire my valentine 1 to my car and not sure if this wiring kit will work. If it would work where do I hook up the red outlet and the metal ring to?
(Maybe I should have posted this in the Parts/Accessories forum /shrug )

It would work I believe, but there is no fuse. If there is a spike in voltage for any reason, your V1 would be fried. I would order the OE hardwire kit from Valentine direct for ~$20.

As long as you use a existing fused circuit it should be OK.

Or you can add a fuse

Well, if you attach it to the wire that goes to the overhead lights, then it should be protected by a fuse.

The round metal circle thing is your ground, you can attach it to an existing screw in the roof if there is one, or drill into the roof subframe like I did and ground it there. The other one is the power cable, that will need to be connected to a 12v source, i.e. the 12v wire in the overhead lights. The color coding is a bit different on my car, so I am not sure which wire it is, but there are plenty of DIY's if you search
