I have the standard heated seats; not the sport seats or comfort seats. I want to swap out for heated multi-function comfort seats. After some help from Rudy and the search feature, I have found that the comfort seats and the sports seats pretty much share the same wiring harness. Where as the standard seats evidently have a different one.

Can anyone tell me how big of a project I am looking at? Can I (or the dealer) adapt a new harness or modify the existing one? TIA

BTW, if you ever decide to sell you heated seats, I might be interested. I would love to add heat feature to my sports seats if its doable.

I`ve heard about the standard seats having a diff. wiring harness and you will need reprogramming after install too!

Here in holland there`s a shop selling the multi. comfort seats, all complete with installation for 3k euro`s , and you`ll have to leave your old set behind.

i did this from standard part electric non heated cloth (cant get worse than that) to M5 20 way sports heated memory seats...it was a nightmare, the wiring is compleatly different and the coding took a bit also, in total it took 3 days and cost me ?750.

it was all done OEM by mark at cartronics (byfleet UK)
and everything functions perfectly.
dont forget you will need to swap over the seat belt pre tensioners also as there different for the sports seats, and these need coding also

but yes its do-able

I replaced my cloth semi electric seats for heated memory electric sports seats and they work with the exception of the memory which i need to get programmed next time i have something else programmed. I was a pain but certainly can be done

Try looking at a topic "M5 fully electric seats" by "drantispy"

The easiest and best way to do it is to get a new vehicle! That is what I did. More warranty, more features, more power etc. for not that much more money with all the deals floating about right now. Replacing the seats could also become quite a headache if every little piece of minutia is not perfectly done.
