Thumbs up

Hey all,

I will be taking over a 2004 530i next week and I have a question for the experts in this forum

The car does not come with the pre-wiring for the Sat radio, does that mean that I can not have it install from the manufacturer now ? I really do enjoy the Sat radio and I was wondering if there was still a chance it could be done. I know I can hook it up with the stand alone system they sell, but I would really like to have it integrated with idrive and the car original system.

I've been reading the post and I am glad to see that there is a fix for the bluetooth interface, we now have to get Verizon (my carrier of chaoice) to do their thing.

Don't know much about the car just that is 530i 2004, picked up in September 2004. does not have the NAV option.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thx
Dio

Without the pre-wiring, it appears as if the factory version of SAT can't be added (whether or not you have NAV)

Ok Some more info on a sirus retro fit.. not sure how this is going to go over with the dealer but from what I found on the TIS .

Sirus has the following connections.
2 MOST Fiber Connections. This connects the receiver in to the MOST BUS, from what i could see in the electrical design there is a MOST bus hub in the trunk. I am pulling my trunk apart tonight to see if this is true.

1 Power Connection. This looks like it can be tapped in to the power panel on the left side of the trunk, there is a fuse spot marked.

1 Ground Connection.

2 Antenna Connections ( I am not sure if the Sharkfin has the antenna built in but worst case you would need to relace the guts for the sharkfin or use a hockey puck)

Will keep everyone advised on my quest..
