Can I add BMW Nav to my 04 530i, if so, where and about how much?? Or do I have to order a 3rd party Nav system?
Thanks in advance.

Will depend on your build date, but most likely you'll have to go third party. Some of the very early 2004 cars were shipping before the NAV system was ready so they built them pre-wired. If you are fortunate enough to have one of those early builds, in can be retrofitted. Do a search on the forum, it's been discussed before and I recall one of the earlier threads talking about the code that can be found by your dealer using your VIN to determine if the car was pre-wired. Can't recall the dates either when the pre-wiring was done, search...

He did say the same thing you did, but mine does not have the DVD player in it, yet, but if mine is BMW pre wired, and will work I will be purchasing whatever it takes to get it working.

Presley,
First check if you have two buttons next to i-Drive knob. One is MENU and the other is useless voice button. If that's the case, your car can surely be retrofitted.
Also, give your BMW part guy your VIN to find out if it's retrofittable.
Good luck.

I believe the option you need is 6UA. BMW was retrofitting NAV in cars with that pre-wire option for $1800 at one time.

official OEM NAVI retrofit is available ever since.... I have the 2004 accesories catalogue.... but that is for EU spec cars.... so maybe you can get it in Europe and have it installed.... I've just checked the parts catalgoue and it is really offered only in EU....
BMW Nav is definitely retrofitable.... it is just a matter of money.....
new CCC, new screen, and the navi unit for the trunk...... so pretty expensive..... but technicaly it is just a plug-n-play.......![Big Grin](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/biggrin.gif)
but very expensive one
part no: 65900397300
price cca 3000 USD
Navi Professional Retrofit Kit
for all cars before 9/2005
