I had a 04 530i with the same code and more codes followed. Check your manifold adjuster unit, there's a plastic flap that breaks off. After I kept getting bank one bank 2, o2 sensor and mtf and misfire codes and spending all kinds of money. It was the manifold adjuster unit causing all those codes. I paid $254 usd on line for the part. You can replace the flap cheaper but I just replaced the whole unit.

Ur right there was nothing wrong with my cam shafts sensors or none of the other codes that popped but bc i didn't know any better at the time I went and paid for all new parts according what was associated with the code. Later on to find out it was a broken flap on my manifold adjuster unit aka: DISA valve
