I've noticed when I decellerate, a faint "tick" noise that comes from
the ashtray area. Its almost as if a screw rolls and hits something
or something slides and hits something in that area.
Everytime I brake fairly good I hear it. Has anyone noticed the
same thing or better yet fixed it?

its the time bomb ticking and just waiting to blow!! sorry i'm just a fool today... umm.. i've never heard of that problem but did you ever take apart your center console or anything around there? might be improper assembling or a loose screw somewhere..

I have a similar noise from that area sometimes when I first open the door and enter my car. It seems to stop after I start the engine. I am going to ask the dealer next time I stop in. Anybody here know what this is?

Not sure if it's the same ticking noise but mine came from the sliding armrest (one near the handbrake lever). It goes away when I pull it out of the locking/fully retracted position. Hope this helps.

yup, the armrest, that should do it.
I had somthing similar a few weeks back. I was convinced that something was loose around the ashtray area. Spent a long time proding, bashing wobbling things until it dawned on me that it was a bottle of water in the cup holder
Weird, as it sounded like it was coming from lower down...
