Picked up my new ride last night. CA stated I'm one of the last to have a car delivered with a flashlight in the glove box. BMW is discontinuing the tradition.

Then of course my E60 HAS one and my new E70 Does not (they did give me a nice LED flashlight w/ BMW logo that would fit in the glove box, but it would roll around and drive me crazy I'm sure).
So it seems BMW is just being BMW and should eventually return the flashlight in a later series again!

I've never used that flashlight... my dad had it in his BMW and over the years it just became dead and he's never used his either.

BMW vacillates on this....
I think BMW would do better to leave the socket and make the torch an option on lower models and include it at least on top-of-line models.

I thought they usually give you
2 flashlights in the glove for the e60.
When i got my car it came with 2.

I agree with Jonathan that they should at least include the socket and sell the lights out of the parts department/boutiques. Also, as I said before, it would allow dealers to toss one in if they wanted to add some value and loyalty...
Did anyone notice that the emergency sunroof closing tool disappeared starting last fall? It's no longer included in the toolkit. There's even an SI B announcing its departure but without any suggestion as to how to close the sunroof without it.
