My Ride: 2007 Sapphire Black Metallic 525i. Beige Dakota Leather, Premium package, bluetooth, BMW Assist, Xenon adaptive lights, Sirius radio
Default

Today I leave for lunch. It is hot. I hit the max button.......
Nothing...5 to 10 minutes later max starts blowing.

Last time it did this it kept getting worse till it got to the point that the a/c would not cool. Went to the store, no cold air, way home from the store, no cold air. Pull in driveway cold air.

After having it for a week they replaced the blower motor and the blower motor resistor. That did not fix it. Tech obsessed about it all weekend and the following Monday he discovered the car somewhere had a bad ground. The car started to turn things off that were non-essential. Tried a ground wire? cable? from another BMW and it fixed it. They had to order the part and it was here the next day.

Now it is 92 degrees outside. They said they would find me a loaner before the 17th if the a/c went out completely. They did have an opening on the 16th, but, I have a doc appt.

uuuggghhh,
Martin

Could a ground have gone bad again?

Sorry to hear about your problem.

It could be the "classic" AC sensor failure.

sounds like a dead battery.
Anyway, how much did they charged for replacing the blower motor and the blower motor resistor ?
