I notice that the clutch pulley on my A/C compressor rattles a little (Bearings gone bad?). Can the clutch pulley be replace by itself or does it require replacing the A/C compressor?

Has anyone done it? Any DIY?

I have never really seen anyone sell just a compressor clutch, always a whole unit with the compressor.

I believe the compressor clutches are available but not readily. A shop that specializes in rebuilding compressors can replace the clutch and check out the entire compressor in the process. Will be significantly cheaper than replacing the compressor/clutch assembly. Most larger cities have a/c specialty shops that will rebuild your compressor.
