We could all begin guessing and maybe get lucky. Why don't you take a picture?

I think jmb3466 is referring to oil cooler. Oil cooler has a plastic cover, it's in a rectangle shape, and is silver in color. Coolant passes thru that box and cools the oil. How loud is that buzz/hum? Does that hum/buzz start as soon as you start the car or it starts some time later?
See the red circle in the attached pic...

There are no mechanical moving parts inside that oil cooler. Essentially, the heat is 'transferred' from oil to the coolant. It's technical name is 'heat exchanger'. It's around $140, add few more dollars for the gasket. Parts #9 and 5 in the picture below.
Be absolutely sure the noise is actually ORIGINATING from that heat exchanger. The buzzing may be originating from one of the pullies (possibly the belt tensioner pulley or idler pulley) Tensioner pulley is few inches below that heat exchanger.

Look at the drive belt and see if any of the pullies are wobbling.
If there is no wobbling from any of the pullies and there are no errors on iDrive, I'd say drive and take the car to a mechanic/dealer.
