Hey guys, thanks for your help. I have two options that I am interested in. '07 550i certified warranty for 52,500.00 and install the sport bumper kit (cost is approximately 2500.00 i believe without paint) and some reasonable wheels and tires(2000.00), or...

Buy the '08 550i sport (it is NEW) for 64,070 that is discounted 5k off sticker? that already has the sharp looking M looking kit?

There is a diff of 11,500 basically between the two. Call the diff 5- 6 grand after I put the kit and wheels on the '07. Just wanted to get current owners' perspectives to help me with this decision.

 

Get the 08, I had an 07 M Sport and I'm waiting for an 08 there ,are a few more things other than bumpers and wheels that will make the cost difference even less ie new front lights , tail lights , upgraded interior , power mirrors , usb , comfort access. Also the 08 will have the MSport suspension , steering wheel , door sills and comfort seats............... don't get me wrong the 07 is awesome and I loved mine but the nice little upgrades on the 08 will make you kick yourself if you don't get it !

Yeah, I was afraid you'd say something like that !!!!

 

Also the value of the 08 will always be more than an 07 on resale, so the difference is even less.

 

Not even a close consideration - get the 2008.

 

Also the 08's have a sexy exhaust note that the earlier 550's didn't have as well as Sport Automatic Tranny and paddle shifters....................... write the cheque !!

 

For sure the '08, price difference is not big enough to get the '07.

Go for the 08. The are many many subtle improvements that all add up. Also you would lose your aftermarket investment in customizing the 07 where the value of the stock 08 would be preserved. Best wishes on your decision.

 

It is not even close get the 08 550 sport, but make sure that you are getting the sport tranny.
