My Ride: 2005 545i
I want to test whether my MP3 works. I know it probably doesn't but since my SA told me they installed 19.1 in my car I wanted to try to make sure.
I use Nero to burn CD/DVD's. Should I burn a CD or DVD? If so any particular was of doing it?

Just burn them as a data cd. Create folders if you wish, it should work (if MP3 is here).

Ohh forgot to mention, close the session for best results (disk at once, finalize session). Some CD/DVD players don't like open sessions.

It only works with Radio Pro-you in the USA has it already with NAV Pro - here in EU we need the radio. i ordered it and also HUD will have no NAV, but yes it works with Mp3.
But personally I think it is better to have an Ipod or other, Archos.

I burned a CD which had some directories and mp3's in the root. I closed the session. I put the CD in my cd player (not changer) and when i went to the cd player it said no disc in player.

My Ride: Tit silver 545 with Steptronic and just about every option availabe to woman.
Did you use CD-R, not CD-RW, when you burned your CD? A lot of non-PC CD players don't play nice with CD-RW's. I haven't made any in the last year or so myself, but recall having a problem until I learned about CD-R vs CR-RW.

so far only the 06's with non-nav can play MP3s.
All others have to wait until after Sept.

I used a CD-R.
Yeah my car is an 05 545i. I have followed the posts about MP3 and where it works and where it doesn't. My SA told me they loaded up 19.1 so i wanted to see if I got lucky and got the MP3 to work with Logic7 and Nav. I guess not.

Yeah I know. I don't know why my dealer would keep saying I got 19.1. He did say that this version specifically fixes the issue of the transmission slam and reluctance to shift in the lower gears. So I would say I got 17.1.
