My Ride: My ex-ride: EU '08 LCI 520dA. Space Grey, Sport Seats in Black Leather/Fabric Anthracite, Sport Steering Wheel, A/C with Extended Features, Hi-Fi Speakers, Cup Holders, Cruise with Braking function, Folding Rear Seats, Xenons, Park Distance Control.

Your car is moving too fast for the bugs to actually try to get in front of you.

I would expect fewer bugs if the issue was isolated to lights alone because the beam of the HIDs stay in a lower plane. Methinks bug splatter is more likely associated with speed. I've always been concerned about being stopped by the police with 100-120 mph bug splatters on the car. Those type splats are a written testimonial to the police that you have been a bad boy. :'(

My wife and I drove 250 miles across Poland to the Baltic sea coast this Friday. I was doing 80-100 mph in the E60 and she was doing 50-70 in her V50. My car was covered in bugs, hers had just a couple. I'm convinced it's purely a speed thing.

Have you guys ever hit a big moth and watched the juices splatter on your windshield? I think it's rather entertaining, but a hassle to wash off.
