do not worry about it.... you will do about 40000km with teh breaks....
IT IS THE SENSOR only.... the reading is not accurate.... the numbers on your Idrive will increase again soon.....

The count-down isn't too accurate. Mine's (front) stuck at 4,600 miles (has actually gone up from 4,500!) That's approx. 22.5k miles... (So anything between 20k and 30k miles is probably 'normal')

75.000 km on clock... And the service menu says 33.000 km's left for the rear brake pads, and 22.000 km's left for the front pads!! That's cool! The brakepads have never been changed!

Speedlimits - NO

We drive mostly at nights and longer trips: That means high average speeds, low comsumption, and almost no braking at all... I just got home after 340 km's on highways... The traffic was heavy, but I didn't stop at once on the hole trip Just keep a good distance

I changed the rear brake pads at 23,000 km. My front pads won't go past 30,000 km according to I-Drive.

Hi there,

Do not worry. I have 67 000 km on my pads and computer still indicates 9 000 km to next service.
Drive style always sporty.

Have done around 25,000 kms in my 530i... iDrive shows 14K left on the fronts and 15k on the backs. At the recent regular service I complained that the brakes were squeaky but after checking, the garage said there was nothing wrong with them - just the effect of a lot of dust on the roads here. Squeaks seem to be getting worse over time, and it's annoying me too!

Probably do not measure very good with low miles/kms or your sensors are not reading correctly. I am at 34,500 miles (55,500kms) now and my iDrive says the front brakes (the worst performing) still have 36,000 miles to go. I ask the SA to check each time as I do not trust the readins but he says that is correct and I and only down about 50% on front pads. rears are even better.
