stillen rotors. hawk pads. wont happen until i need them, which wont be for a long time.
Keep your right foot firmly planted on the long, skinny pedal. Avoid the rectangular one in the center.
You won't need brakes for a long, long time.
Just an FYI of little use.

Probably refering to Front and Rear Rotors, sensors and pads plus brake fluid. That price would still be kinda high though. I spoke to someone getting this done on an X5 at the local BMW dealership, and they were quoted ~$800+.

Pays to shop around. BMW CCA 10% discount comes in handy also for repairs and maintenance that are not DIY.

Agreed. I just paid CAD$1200.00 (about US$1050.00) for pads, rotors and a system flush so it sounds like maybe that's what they were quoting.
A question though, I just went in for pads but they told me that they always replace the rotors too; they won't machine them. Is that right or ....

If rotors is the same as the disks and all four are changed, with pads, sensors and brake fluids plus the job
(cleaning and airing), it can well cost some 1,000 bucks.

But to my knowledge, the front pads goes around 30 - 40 kmiles, the read pads at some 50 - 60 kmiles
and the disks need changing at some ever second pad change, so...

But if one drives very, very hard, of course the brake system needs a service and change of parts much earlier.

At this Forum we more and more seldom hear the whole true story, which is sad.
It is so hard to advise if one don't know all the facts...

wagner pads from advance auto...ceramic fronts and forgot the rears but they work great and provide pretty much no brake dust compared to stock. i hope the quote was for new rotors and everything because i was like "WOW" thats a lot. But that would make sense.
