Anyone else get an early Brake Service Due warning? Mine needs flushing and it still has about six weeks to go before it's two years old with relatively low mileage. The inconvenience of having to take the car in for what appears to be a premature brake flush is a little disconcerting. I ignored the warning for a couple of weeks, but the notice in the HUD is persistent everytime I crank, so . . . I'm scheduled for in the morning.

Same on Mine JDN. Started 4-6 weeks before the two year anniversary. They seem to have built in the early warning intentionally as far as I can tell. No HUD on my car, so I was able to make the warning go away and drive with having to look at it everywhere I drove!

Yep same here, but the oil is due on mine in 1600 miles, and the vehicle check (2300) and the microfilter (2300), which is about 4/5 weeks driving tops for me.

So I've booked it in for the lot. Hell, it's all free on service inclusive

JDN:
Mine came on right at 2 years, within a week.

browellm:
My dealer wouldn't perform the other maintenance items, you mentioned, until their "due" date. I only mention this so you can ask upfront if there will be any charge. Please let us know, thanks

Will do, but as I'm at 35000 miles, in % terms I am very close to the required dates/mileage anyway. Will let you know.

I beleive this is because the two year change frequency is based on the production date, not the sales or delivered date. This is worked this way for the BMW motorcycle group as well.

Good point! Didn't think of that but I guess my car was built around 4 weeks before I took delivery...

Thanks, ksc, mud, juan2, noone, and browellm. Mine was birthed on 3/04 and that's about when it started. I thought it was connected to the charcoal air filter removal so put it back in. That changed nothing so I followed up with iDrive and there it was. Interesting that the car was not able to call in the service to the BMW service center. That may require another fix.

At least I understand what's going on with the brake fluid now.

JDN, have you renewed your BMW Assist? I let mine lapse after the first free year. And I also did not have my car notify the dealer. Was just curious if it was the car not notifying BMW/dealer or if it was just my dealer not following up. Guess my question is whether you need BMW Assist to have the functionality of automatic notifications?
