I just got a certified 06 530i with 35k miles on it. I noticed the following in the service history: Bracket Steering Column Switch @ 341 miles and @ 16032 miles (what is this?)

It could be a electrical switch that locks a bracket in to the steering wheel
when the car is parked for anti theft.
