Default Boston Area e60 Owners

Looking for some help in locating a car with sport seats to sit in. I am looking at a car in IL and it has sport seats. I have only had a e60 (530xi) with regular seats. I need to see if I can fit in them as not all sport seats work.

I have looked around a several BMW places and no one has them in an 06 or 07. Does anyone have them and if so, would you mind if I came over and did a butt test?

PM if you can.

Many thanks.

The sport seats are more or less infinitely adjustable so if you fit in the regular seats you'll fit in the sport seats. If you're a portly fellow perhaps the side bolsters couldn't be out as far but that's all adjustable. Then again, I'm not sure the 06 - 07's got that as my 2006 didn't have the adjustable bolsters.

Either way, if you fit in the standard seat you should fit in the sport seat with no issues.

Default It's not the side bolsters, it's the seat (thigh) bolsters

that I am concerned with. The width of the actual lower portion of the seat is the same, I believe. The regular seats have the thigh bolster portion fairly flat, where as the comfort seats have a little height to the seat (no side) bolsters. If they are too high, they dig into my thighs. I need to determine if they are too high. The side ones (upper portion of the seats) are fine.

I have a 2010 with the multi-contour seats in my M-Sport. Are those close to what you are looking for? I don't know, that's why I ask.

The "20 way multi-contour" are simply the best seats due to the separately articulating upper 1/2 of the backrest portion. The "wing" flap folding headrest is nice too, especially for the passenger when laid back for a nap on trips, so I hear....
The torso side bolsters are widely adjustable. The thigh is just enough but not like a seriously snug sport seat. The lower front edge adjusts also and the 4 way lumbar of course.

I find the E61 one of the most adjustable seating arrangements out there with the seat going very high or very low, plenty of angle adjustment, wide range of steering wheel movement, good long door arm rest and sliding fore-aft right arm rest for the driver. I also like how the center arm rest area is plenty wide for two people to "share". Many cars it's more like choosing who get to be there or crammed together.

Why the heck am I considering selling??? I love this car! I just can't keep them all though. Darn toys!
