As a result, I have ordered a Carbon Black 530i Auto, with MSports Package. The car will be one of the first builds of the new R6 3.0 litre engine - but the downside - delivery only April next year

Since I have some time to decide on other options, thought I'd ask for opinions on the MSports suspension with and without Dynamic Drive (roll stabilisation)??

Does Dynamic drive make the drive considerably more comfortable?

Thanks

concerning Dynamic Drive - I thought, you can't have both together. With M Sport Package is not possible to further add Dynamic Drive option. M Sport Package already has its own sport suspension setup. That's what I've been told when ordered my car.

I dont have DD, but what I tested with dealer's demo car, it barely add more comfort, rather reduce it, especially with 18" runflat tyres.

I have been told by the dealer that I can order both. My understanding is that the MSport suspension is a lower and stiffer suspension set up (passive system) and that dynamic drive as an active system can therefore be applied to any suspension set up.

But I could be wrong Thats why I like this forum! (lots of good points and opinions)

Will certainly check with the dealer on Monday.

Yes, you are right with passive/active system. My understanding is that DD can be combined with regular Sport Suspension Setup, but not with M Sport Package which includes body aerodynamic kit. It is similar to M5, which doesn't have DD either

Hi,

I have Dynamic Drive and I absolutly love it. I woudn't hesitate to take it again. Especially together with the active front streering it makes the car sportive while on the other hand also very comfortable. You should make a testdrive. When I did I was sold.

I have until Jan 05 to confirm options with dealer.
However, if that is the case, it makes my decision very easy. I will not sacrifice the MSports package to get Dynamic Drive.

Welcome aboard, BMW#4 !

DD (ARS) does make the ride more comfortable.
I have it myself and tested other cars without it. It is a big difference, IMHO!

If the new I6 engine is going to be available in SA starting March 2005 production build, when will it be offered in the US. Also, is this only going to apply to the 530 or will it bump up the 525 power as well. Will a 525 even be offered in the US for 2006 MY?
