JDN, thanks, I wish I had the WB in my car. Would useful seeing how we seem to have to evacuate at least once a year of late for a big hurricane...

I have no idea why some people have it and some don't. It comes in handy once in a while and I sometimes missed it on the E39 (my E30 has it) but not enough to worry about it. Now I have two weather sources, NOAA and Sirius...

Uh, no? I'm going to assume you're being sarcastic. Just for the less-knowledgable who might become misinformed by your post:
Try encoding them properly. Using APS (Alt Preset Standard) VBR, there are about 2 or 3 audible markers that distinguish it from redbook. I'm told by experts that these should be inaudible except in the most specialized of cases and only if you know what to listen for. Check out this thread - it's pretty good:

I use Poikosoft's Easy CD-DA Extractor, which makes it easy to use these tools to get well-encoded MP3s.
