look what BMWs website says about the 535 in the model overview... falling 60 HP short of the 550, how can this be accurate enough for BMW to put on their website?

Arrival of the fittest.

Power has always been a dominant gene, and the 535i Sedan was born with it. Encased in a sculpted body, its
inline 6-cylinder with twin-turbos and 300-hp deliver the unprecedented performance and fuel efficiency that make
it the fastest 5 Series ever.

There must be SOME qualifying remark missing, such as for an inline 6 or something?

I think the 535 has been out selling all other models....a great combination of power and economy.

Interesting....in Manual trim, the 550 weighs 286 lbs more than the 535. That certainly would make a difference, but I can't imagine it would make the 535 faster than the 550.

I've seen several M5 Tourings here...that's a sleeper wagon! Not a market for them in the states though.
