MESSING AROUND BIG TIME ... as for an SA advising that a burned cd could void warranty - how the heck does the JERK think the original CD was created (OH - maybe it was FROZEN instead of BURNED!)

Lol...i swear down i was talking the same about this with my colleague an hour ago...

I'm going to speak to BMW head office in Brecknall and see what they gotta say as i think its all BS...but the funny thing is my CD wasnt ejecting from the main Head Unit a few weeks back and all my CD's were burned CD's (even the ones in the CD changer) but they still replaced the Head Unit, CD changer etc and didnt complain about it being due to copied CD's, they had to programme the whole thing after install which took them a whole day...

And now when i tell her that i could play MP3 before but now i cant play MP3 after they had programmed the car she comes up wid dis cr@p..

Whats on that little decal up in the corner of the windshield? Seems like it said something about things that void warranties.....can't remember what all was listed on there

It states, "If driven forward or reverse during any day of the week that ends with a "y" the manufacturer's warranty is voided."

I know this first-hand to be total bull. Early on with my car, I had a burnt CD get stuck in the changer and the dealer replaced the magazine cartridge (under warranty I would add).

Capital "B", Capital "S"

Besides - how is BMW going to know if you used a copied disk or not?

+1 Sometimes it's surprising how ridiculous it can get. I met one retarded SA before. He did not know what mp3 CD was

I think this is a simple case of incorrect SA training. I bet BMW must tell them about copied Nav discs and how it slows the iDrive down etc and then someone makes that rule apply to all discs.
