+1. The SA is spouting total garbage.
I could play MP3 CD's before i had them programme my car for a new CD Head unit as the old one was not ejecting properly and i told her that now its not playing mp3 CD's and she told me "you do know copied CD's void your warranty"...i booked it in and then she tells me to bring the mp3 CD's which im trying to play...WTF am i supposed to do as i have never heard the fact that your warranty gets voided for playing copied CD's...

And another thing is do any CD's come as MP3 already?

Total BS. No car manufacture can void your ENTIRE car warranty for anything unless they PROVE that aftermarket part caused the car to malfunction. It was some legal act...I forgot the name of it....

I just spoke to a friend of mine who is a BMW Technician at Park Lane (London) and he told me that this is arguable with the SA's "as copying a CD is when you copy/replicate another CD but the CD's i play are not copies as i have burnt them on to a CD at my house and on my Computer from a collection of music which i have on a HD on my Computer, mp3 CD's also aren't copied as I have burnt from music on to a CD from a collection of music which i have downloaded and paid for lawfully from manufacturer's (iTunes etc)"....

Is he right people...

No. The car is capable of playing recordable CD media, and the MP3 discs you create will, by definition, have to be on one of these media as by and large you can't buy commercial music on CD as an MP3 data disc. You're simply dealing with a poorly informed SA. A problem arising from a customer trying to use an unsupported media type in the CD-drive could arguably render any remedial work as a non-warranty repair, but it in no shape or form would it void your entire car's warranty. If you were trying to play an MP3 disc recorded on unsupported media the SA may have a point, but beyond that they're blowing smoke...

Capital "B", Capital "S"

Besides - how is BMW going to know if you used a copied disk or not?

I had a SA tell me that you're not suppose to use burnt disc...He said it slows down the idrive and crap....This was a fill in SA and he was a DICK!!! When my regular SA came back he told me not to worry about it and to ask for him everytime so I don't have to deal with the other SA...
