So far at nearly 7K miles Ive not noticed any noise or wear issues with the Dunlops, however run-flats give the car an awful ride quality and should never have been fitted by BMW.
BMW NOT Dunlop specify the tyres they use on our cars so they MUST take some of the blame. Secondly in Europe they flatly refuse to accept any liability and only seem to give replacements in North America.
A very serious double standard

A question to all, who has had one than one set of Dunlop's replaced under warranty? My replacement set have been howling for awhile, but I thought I was just stuck because they have already been replaced once.

My 05 530 sport has 4000 miles on my fourth set of runflats (26000 total miles). So far, there is no noise. I did have an (expensive) alignment done (dealer request for a bent rim) so perhaps this fourth set might be my last. I thought I had heard the roar by now on my first three sets. Crossing fingers.

"Replaced all 4 tires as per SIB 36 02 05. Note that tires were already replaced once. Tires were Dunlop SP Sport 01. Front tires were 245/40R18, rear were 275/35R18."
My car has over 23,000 miles.

Anticipating that awful jarring again, when I switched back over to Thumpflats, from snow tires, I told the dealer to set the tire air pressure to MINIMUM RECOMMENDED PRESSURE, and they did so. The improvement in ride has been significant. My only problem is that I don't know which PSI they used, so I can't pass along the info (and I don't have carefully calibrated gauge to check).
But, you can just instruct them as I did, and it certainly helps.
Cheers,

I finally got 4 new Dunlops today, all made between week one and week 25. I had 19,968 on the odometer so decided I had better go for it. One was worn on the edge a bit as in the bulletin graphic. The tread on the others looked great, but I told them that there was a bit of noise developing. As usual, I had to rub their nose in the bulletin as with everything I ever tackled them with that originated from this forum. They were adamant that this was a one time only replacement. I said, "We'll see."
For the record, this set of Dunlops was the set I had replaced about 12,000 ago when I split two wheels. Two were made in '03 and two in '04 spread out over many months.
On the way home, the FTM sounded off. I pulled over, checked all four tires, and not to my surprise found that the dealer had put the same wrong amount of air in all four tires. The front two were three over and the rears were five under. I initialized the FTM and all is well. What's with dealers and tire pressures. Is it that hard? What else do they consistently do wrong?
